Our darshan has been booked for 1.30 pm to 3 pm slot. We thought to reach early to explore ayodhya. The road is excellent except for small patches. Reached ayodhya at 10.30 am. As usual vehicles were stopped far away similar to prayagraj for crowd management. We had to park our car at a far away designated ground. Day started with breakfast in our hotel ,followed by visit to sarnath one of the important places in Buddhism. Sarnath is one of the most important pilgrimage center for the Buddhists and is hardly 10 km from Varanasi. It holds an important place in the Sanatan/Hindu dharm.Varanasi is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities of the world. There are 84 ghats in arc/crescent shaped , 6.4 km ganga river front of varanasi. Among these 5 ghats are considered most auspicious i.e. Asi, Dashashvamedha, Manikarnika,Panchaganga and Adi keshava. Also it is an important shakti peetha too where it's believed Devi's eye fell. Also the earrings of parvati devi is believed to have fallen in manikarnika ghat. Day 1:Mumbai to Seoni Our first destination in the trip to Mahakumbh is seoni or shivni. Rudyard Kipling used the forests in the vicinity of Seoni as the setting for the Mowgli stories in The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book (1894–1895). Seoni is a city where a tributary of the river Godavari, Wainganga originates. There is a statue of Mowgli in Seoni at the site of origin of Wainganga. We have planned to visit this place on our return trip to Mumbai if time permits. Our trip started at 4 am from Anushakti nagar, Mumbai. A stretch of 5 km was really bad on Mumbai Agra Highway.
